Music

It is well recognised that music can help to develop the skills, attitudes and attributes that can support learning. This includes listening skills, the ability to concentrate, creativity, aesthetic sensitivity, perseverance, the ability to work in a group, self confidence and sensitivity towards others. Music can also aid memory, which is why singing nursery rhymes and action songs are particularly good for a child’s early development.

Our College offers regular Music classes during the College hours where students learn the nuances of music from professional teachers and discover, nurture and fine-tune their musical talents.

Our music classes include voice training, rhythm training, preparation and rehearsal of songs for various College events and celebrations, music quizzes and games, traditional raga training, notes and music theory and listening sessions. Students are also taught the art of playing the harmonium, tabla, guitar and keyboard/piano. They are given the guidance and support required for them to become accomplished performers. Students are also encouraged to accompany vocalists at various College functions and programmes. Musical instrument classes are held after College hours.
